Are you an Extension professional or woman working in agriculture? Do you need help finding resources? There are many organizations and options out there if you know where to look. The Florida Women in Agriculture Association has begun compiling a list of resources for women in agriculture. We are happy to share this as it continues to grow!

Organizations

There are international, national, and Florida-based organizations that support women in agriculture. Some may be better for you than others based on your specific needs.

Conferences are great ways to network, learn new ideas, and to get excited or reinvigorated about your Extension or agricultural work (Photo UF/IFAS).

Conferences

Some of these conferences occurred in 2023 and the 2024 dates are not yet posted. However, you can keep an eye out for them if you know they exist!

Additional Resources for Women in Agriculture

One of the more well known resources is Annie’s Project. This is a nonprofit for educating and empowering women. There are various ways of getting involved including a curriculum to use for education and Extension and an annual conference.

I have previously written a couple blogs focused on women in agriculture. There will certainly be more of these to come!

Conclusion

There are an increasing number of resources for women in agriculture. We are hoping to build a much larger list and maintain it on our future website! If you have any suggestions for additions please feel free to share them by sending them to the author Emily Kraus. We are looking forward to increasing our support for Florida’s women in agriculture!
